Description:
This ACCC – Your Consumer Rights Toolbox Talk is designed to support NDIS providers in developing a safe, consistent, and person-centred approach to understanding and upholding consumer rights when delivering services to people with disability. It aligns with the NDIS Practice Standards, relevant legislation, and best-practice guidelines.
This session is used to raise awareness, promote discussion, and provide clear guidance for managers, employees, volunteers, and contractors on key principles of Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees, rights to refunds, repairs and replacements, fair contracts, and protections against misleading or deceptive conduct. It reinforces the importance of clear communication, transparency in service agreements, and ensuring participants are fully informed about their rights.
The toolbox talk highlights the importance of respecting and protecting consumer rights, empowering participants to make informed choices, and ensuring services are delivered safely, fairly, and to an acceptable standard. It promotes accountability, ethical practice, and consistent handling of complaints and disputes in line with regulatory expectations.
Suitable for independent support workers, sole traders, unregistered and registered NDIS providers, and medical and allied health professionals across Australia.
