NEW - Ndis Price Guide (Overview)
The newly released NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) for 2026-27 brings major structural overhaul. What you need to know and our thoughts on the changes:
- NDIS is shifting away from a blanket annual review toward a 3-year plan, implementing tighter price caps across multiple allied health disciplines, and introducing stricter, separated line items for claiming.
- The Minister the power to make binding pricing determinations rather than leaving limits entirely up to NDIA guidance.
- No Core, CB, or Capital funding categories or descriptions for each category sections
- Combined services, support and assistive technology price guide.
- Extended or new support category names and line items
- Extreme focus back to Support Worker Cost Model with the introduction of DSW level 1, 2, 3 & 4
- Introduction of DSW level 1, 2, 3 & 4 means services and support are now locked into these levels and the types of services that worker should be employed for and rostered. Learn More - https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/pricing-and-payments/pricing/pricing-arrangements. Alignment with Fairwork.
- Defined quote based or not sections
- The review introduces price cuts for several therapy supports. For example, "Other Professionals" saw a decrease of $37.83 (dropping to $156.16 per hour), Dietetics dropped by $10.00 to $178.99 per hour, and Exercise Physiology decreased by $5.00 to $161.99 per hour.
- Separated Line Items for therapy (cancellations, non-face-to-face work, reports, provider travel, and telehealth)
- STR Ratios: Ratios for Short Term Respite (STR) ranging from 1:1 to 1:4 have been removed in an effort to simplify claiming.
- Prices increased in line with the Fair Work Commission wage decision and the SCHADS Award.
- STR has been unbundled into clearer components, including accommodation and actual support worker hours.
- Support Coordination Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Support Coordination rates remain unchanged.
- The monthly Plan Management fee remains $104.45 with the removal of the set-up fee.
- A 10% reduction is recommended from 1 January 2027 for supports delivered by unregistered providers.

What We Recommend You Do
- Review the new NDIS Price Guide at your earliest convenience HERE -https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/pricing-and-payments/pricing/pricing-arrangements
- Check participant Plans, Service Agreements, Schedule of Support, Program of Supports, and upcoming invoices for affected line items.
- Update your invoicing pricing
- Providers can start using these new prices from 1 July 2026. However, they cannot simply change prices without discussion. If a provider wants to update their rates for an existing participant, they must talk to the participant first and update the service agreement. The participant must agree to the change before it takes effect.
