NEW - Ndis Price Guide
Resources
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has updated the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, along with several supporting documents, as part of a regular process to keep prices and guidance current and aligned with policy settings. These updates respond directly to feedback from participants and providers, many of whom told the NDIS they need more time to understand and prepare for pricing changes. In line with this, all of the changes outlined below come into effect on 24 November 2025. This advance notice is intended to support better planning, clearer communication, and smoother transitions for everyone who uses or delivers supports. Below is an overview of the key changes, why they have been made, and what they are intended to achieve.
1. Updated price limits for Art Therapists and Music Therapists
Following the Independent Review of Art and Music Therapies, the NDIS have made specific changes to the price limits for Art Therapists and Music Therapists.
These changes are designed to:
‧ Better reflect the qualifications, skills and professional standards required of these therapists.
‧ Recognise the growing evidence base and value of art and music therapies in supporting participant outcomes.
‧ Encourage ongoing availability and sustainability of these services within the scheme.
By updating these price limits, we aim to ensure that participants continue to have access to high‑quality art and music therapy supports, while providers are fairly compensated in line with the recommendations of the Independent Review.
---
2. Updated guidance for claiming ‘Other Professional’ support items
The NDIS have also updated the guidance for claiming “Other Professional” support items, again to align with the recommendations of the Independent Review of Art and Music Therapies. The revised guidance aims to:
‧ Clarify when “Other Professional” items are appropriate for use by art and music therapists.
‧ Reduce ambiguity around which line items should be used and in what circumstances.
‧ Support consistent, transparent and policy‑aligned claiming practices across providers.
Clearer claiming guidance helps participants understand what is being charged, supports providers to bill correctly the first time, and reduces the risk of errors or misunderstandings.

3. Removal of the COVID Addendum and related support items
The COVID Addendum and related temporary support items have now been removed. These items were originally introduced as time‑limited measures to respond to the specific conditions and additional costs associated with the COVID‑19 pandemic. As health settings and broader policy have evolved, those temporary arrangements are no longer required in the same way. By removing the COVID Addendum:
‧ Pricing arrangements are simplified, with fewer temporary or exceptional items.
‧ Providers and participants can return to using the core, ongoing pricing framework.
‧ The scheme’s pricing structure remains clear, stable and easier to navigate.

4. Implementation of updated Modified Monash Model classifications
The NDIS have implemented the most recent Department of Health, Disability and Ageing updates to the Modified Monash Model (MMM) classifications. The MMM is used to describe whether areas are metropolitan, regional, rural or remote. These classifications can affect how pricing is set to reflect the different costs of delivering supports in different locations. By adopting the latest MMM classifications:
‧ Pricing remains aligned with current government definitions of geographic areas.
‧ Supports in rural and remote locations can continue to be priced in a way that reflects actual service delivery conditions.
‧ Participants and providers can be confident that location‑based pricing recognises contemporary population and service realities.
---
5. Updates to the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) calculator
The NDIS have updated the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) calculator as part of the annual process of indexing SDA pricing, following updates to Disability Support Pension (DSP) indexation. These changes:
‧ Ensure that SDA prices remain aligned with broader social security indexation settings.
‧ Help maintain the financial sustainability of SDA while supporting continued investment in quality, accessible housing for participants.
‧ Provide a consistent, transparent method for updating SDA pricing each year.
Providers who use the SDA calculator should ensure they are using the latest version from 24 November 2025 onwards.

6. Alignment with the NDIS Supports List and updates to AT, Home Modifications and Consumables
The NDIS have made a number of changes to keep our documents aligned and up to date with the NDIS Supports List. These include updates to the:
‧ Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and
‧ Assistive Technology, Home Modifications and Consumables Code Guide.
Key elements of this work include:
a) Changes to support items in the AT, Home Modifications and Consumables Code Guide. The NDIS have:
‧ Created new support items where new types of assistive technology, home modifications or consumables are now recognised.
‧ Modified existing items to clarify their use, descriptions or categorisation.
‧ Deleted items that are no longer needed, have been superseded, or are now covered by other supports.
These changes help ensure that the Code Guide remains accurate, practical and clearly aligned with current policy and practice.
b) Updated descriptions of community-based participation items
The NDIS have updated the descriptions for:
‧ Community Social and Recreational Activities
‧ Innovative Community Participation
‧ Community Participation Activities
These revisions are reflected in the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and are intended to:
‧ Provide clearer guidance on what each support item covers.
‧ Improve consistency in how providers describe and claim community participation supports.
‧ Help participants better understand how these supports can assist them to connect with their communities, build relationships and pursue meaningful activities.
