Ndis Unregistered & Registered Provider Explained
On 22 April 2026 the Minister for Health, Ageing and the NDIS, Mark Butler, outlined a major reform package aimed at securing the long‑term sustainability of the NDIS.
- Major changes to access and planning
- Stronger rules on plans and “reasonable and necessary”
- Market, provider and digital controls
WHAT CAN YOU DO RIGHT NOW?
- Nothing changes immediately — the reforms require legislation and extensive consultation. Providers should continue as usual for now until the new laws pass through government.
- Wait for the release of the definition of "close environment contact" from the NDIS & NDIS Commission.
