Employee Performance Management Overview

What is Performance Management?

Please refer to Conducting an Investigation and Supervision & Performance Procedure. 

A senior person/s in the business conducts Performance Management meetings to address an employee's underperformance,  misconduct or misappropriation. Performance Management is conducted following this method:

STEP 1 - The manager collects factual written-only evidence
STEP 2 - The manager invites the employee for a face-to-face meeting in writing (email & letter). The invitation must also include the offer to bring a support person to attend. 
STEP 3 - Meeting between manager & employee in the presence of witnesses. The meeting must be recorded by taking meeting minutes notes. 
STEP 4 - The manager must allow the employee a chance to respond to the allegations. 
STEP 5- The manager must offer employee support & assistance (internally & externally)
STEP 6 - The manager completes Performance Management Plan - DOWNLOAD HERE - Performance Management Plan
STEP 7 - The manager actions any outcomes
STEP 8 - The manager files the Performance Management Plan on employees personal file 
STEP 9 - The manager books the next meeting date & time and notifies the employee in writing (email)
